"Because of your name has become a byword and a curse among the gentiles" [Romans 2:24, Ezekiel 36:20, Isaiah 52:5]...

  1. Sinai...mountain of Sin...Sin was known as Father of the Gods, Creator of all things...the Babylonian and Assyrian moon deity called [En]zu (the Lord of Wisdom - Sumerian - Ea/Enki -->Yah - Eyn-Soph -->Enzu) and Nannar (the illuminer)...Mt. Sinai is where Moses received the Wisdom of the Law...Ea+zu=Jesu...AAAH-chooo!...God bless you...

  2. How did "sin" become evil in the English Bibles? I believe the Protestant reformers hated the Catholic Church and Judaism so much, they purposely used "sin" where in the Hebrew you find "ashame" and "cheat". In Latin - "sin" means PURE. "Holy Holy Holy" in English is the same as "Sancti Sancti Sancti" in Latin. Note: Enki - S[ancti]. A person who is honest is "SINcere". A person who is dishonest is "inSINcere". Also, because the Jews were known as failures to keep the Law, it explains how "sin" came to be known as bad instead of good. In the Greek New Testament - an evil deed is "harm". In Latin, a sin/crime is called "nefas", "impio", "incestus", "noxiosus", "polluo". I can see nothing in this but a deliberate attempt by the Protestant reformers to change the words of scripture - specifically the Latin Bibles - to demonize and make people think the Catholic Church is evil.

  3. SAN in Latin means holy, sacred. Shin is a letter in the Hebrew Alphabet which means the Holy Flame of God's Love. Shin in Chinese means God.

  4. The etymological evidence points to confusing cross purposes used by the English translators of scripture. Looking at the etymological dissection of the word SIN (bottom of page), with it's clear relationship to the Sanskrit SANT (existing, true, virtuous), and the Latin ESSE (to be --> I Am), leaves one really scratching my head and wondering at the depths of hatred the English authors must have nursed in their hearts against Judaism and the Catholic Church to twist a word used by most of the rest of the world to mean HOLY - into evil itself. Why couldn't the English authors have been satisfied to translate ASHAME as ASHAME and CHEAT as CHEAT?

  5. It just shows, when people interpret scripture with HATE, it will come out wrong. No wonder Jewish people have so much trouble with the English Bibles. It tremendously colors the case the "King James Only" people argue for. Scripture must be interpreted in the Spirit of Love - and HONEST intent. Obviously the English interpreters of scripture had a hidden agenda when they translated scripture.

  6. It comes across quite clearly in Paul's writings. He tells us: the law is for SINners - in other words, Israel - the people who received the Law at the mountain of SIN - SINai. And when you commit a SIN, you are violating the Law. When you SIN you are assuming god-hood, you become your own god. Like when a person assumes they are saved, assumes they are a S[ancti] - Saint. When in fact, the only one who could truly know that is God Himself.

  7. .."I desire mercy, not sacrifice...and acknowledgement of God (SIN?) rather than burnt offerings"...acknowledgement/confession of SIN is to turn to God...Note: sin appears to be singular when talking about God - like "there is only One God"...

  8. There is only one Sin.
    There is only one God.
    There is only one Yes.
    There is only one Lord.

The singular personal initiation of a deed - separate from the will of the Almighty. Personal in that it must be totally apart from His will. A boastful conceited proud selfish action. An "I am God" action. To become Sin - but there is only one Sin. Sin is the naked truth. Reality. Beyond what you think you are, or imagine yourself to be. But what you really are. Jesus is Sin on the cross for us - the naked truth.

  9. Sin... also appears to be a general term for gods, idols...which helps you to understand...what it means to turn from your sins/idols...repent...

The Mystical Significance of the Hebrew Letter: SHIN - The Eternal Flame

The letter shin appears engraved on both sides of the head- tefilin. On the right side, the shin possesses three heads, while on the left side it possesses four heads. In Kabbalah we are taught that the three-headed shin is the shin of this world while the four- headed shin is the shin of the World to Come.

The secret of the shin is "the flame [Divine Revelation] bound to the coal [Divine Essence]." A simmering coal actually possesses an invisible flame within it, which emerges and ascends from the surface of the coal when the coal is blown upon. The three levels: coal, inner flame, and outer flame, correspond to the secret of chash-mal-mal, as will be explained in the next letter, the tav.

One of the meanings of the word shin in Hebrew is shinui, "change." The coal symbolizes changeless essence, the secret of the verse: "I am God, I have not changed," meaning that relative to God's Essence absolutely no change has occurred from before Creation to after Creation. The inner flame is the paradoxical latent presence of the power of change within the changeless. The outer flame of the shin is continuously in a state of motion and change.

As in the above-quoted verse, the changeless Essence is the secret of the Name Havayah. The power of change, as latently present within God's Essence before Creation and thereafter revealed in the infinite intricacy and beauty of an ever-dancing flame, is the secret of the explicit Name of Creation, Elokim, the only Name of God which appears in the plural. The number of the letter shin, 300, unites these two Divine Names as the "flame bound to the coal." In at'bash, the Name Havayah transforms to the letters mem-tzadik-pei-tzadik, which total 300. The five letters of Elokim (alef-lamed-hei-yud-mem) when written in full, also equal 300.

The three heads of the shin of this world correspond to the three levels of the changeless, potential, and actual change as discussed above. In this world, the changeless is symbolized only by a black, dark coal, not as the revealed light of the flame. Nonetheless the endurance of the flame depends upon the changeless essence of the coal. In the World to Come, the changeless essence will reveal itself within the flame. This revelation of the future is the secret of the fourth head of the shin.
