THE CUP

Man is: Jesus is: God is:
Material Bridge Immaterial
Corruptible Gate Non-corruptible
Corporal Shepherd Eternal
World Son of God Spirit
Physical Son of man Life
Sheep Ladder Love
Not pure Fire of Refinement In Heaven

Matt 23:25,26:
Woe to you scribes and pharisees, you hypocrites. You cleanse the outside of the cup and dish, but inside
they are full of plunder and self- indulgence. Blind pharisee, cleanse first the inside of the cup, so that the
outside also may be clean.

Luke 11:40,41:
Did not the maker of the outside also make the inside? But as to what is within, give alms, and behold,
everything will be clean for you.

Matt 7:12:
Do to others whatever you would have them do to you. This is the Law and the Prophets.

Mark 4:25:
He also told them, "Take care what you hear. The measure with which you measure will be measured out
to you, and still more will be given to you."

Luke 6:38:
Give and gifts will be given to you; a good measure, packed together, shaken down, and overflowing, will
be poured into your lap. For the measure with which you measure will in return be measured out to you.

Mark 11:25:
When you stand to pray, forgive anyone against whom you have a grievance, so that your Heavenly Father
may in turn forgive you your transgressions.

Dan 5:23-28:
"....but the God in whose hand is your life breath and the whole course of your life, you did not glorify. By
Him were the wrist and hand sent, and the writing set down. "This is the writing that was inscribed:
mene, tekel, and peres. These words mean: mene, God has numbered your kingdom and put an end to it;
tekel you have been weighed in the scales and found wanting; peres, your kingdom has been divided and
given to the Medes and Persions."

Rev 18:6,7:
"Pay her back as she paid others. Pay her back double for her deeds. Into her cup pour double what she
poured. To the measure of her boasting and wantonness repay her with torment and grief, for she said to
herself, "I sit enthroned as queen, I am no widow, and I never will know grief."

The soul and spirit are the eternal parts of a man. The core of a man is his heart. The heart is the cup you
measure others with. A man's heart, apart from God, is full of all that is not of God; the world, lust, sin,
and death.

If you wish to be with God, you must fill the cup of your heart with that which is good - like God:
Righteousness, Love, Justice, Obedience, Forgiveness, Truth, Peace, Prayer, Hope, Joy, Humility, Faith,
Life, Freedom

All the things which make up this world and universe are corruptible or decay and die. When a person is
separated from God, their heart is filled with evil things: Lawlessness, Judgement,. Sin, Selfish Desires,
Death, Pride, Lust, Hate

Fatih-Love -------------- Pride-Darkness
Won't Burn 1 Will Burn
                     Justice

When the cup you use to measure others with is used against you, what will it be filled with?

Asking Jesus Christ into your heart fills the cup with purity no man could achieve. Then, before God you
are justified and made righteous!

Love the Lord, Love your Neighbor.

Verbal acceptance of Jesus Christ as the Son of God - died, risen, will come again - Lord and Savior of
your life. And the practice of integrity and righteousness. This is saving faith; righteous living with a
repentant heart.

Asking Jesus Christ of Nazareth into your heart and life gives you the purity God requires and you cannot
achieve. To God, all self-righteousness in pursuit of salvation is as filthy rags! Worthless!

Jesus Christ is our Savior - if we believe in Him!

A PRAYER

My Lord and my God, You are my strength! Keep me from stumbling! Hold me up - shore up my faith!
So when storms and temptation and sin come, I will survive. Dear Jesus, in your name, Amen!

As I come into work from the parking lot, it is my custom to run up the three flights of steps. It feels good
to start the day briskly. Sometimes I come in a little sleepy from the commute. The stairs are a challenge -
a mountain to conquer. So, off I go - 2 steps at a time.

One morning, I was feeling pretty good, so I attacked the stairs. About a third of the way up - I stumbled. I
felt, as I finished up the stairs, that God was teaching me something. A lesson in faith. With faith and
surety, I started up the stairs. The moment I doubted my ability to gain the next step - I stumbled. When
you fall on steel stairs, backed up with 1/8" indoor/outdoor carpeting, it hurts. So I was reminded of the
fall almost all day. As you trust in the action - you exercize your faith. For some reason, for the moment I
stumbled, I lost trust in my strength.

Where truly does our strength come from? Your spirit motivates you - it animates your limbs. When your
spirit is sad, you lose strength. When you are happy, you feel like lifting the world or tossing a star or two.
The spirit of life within us comes from God. Strength is equal to life. We must realize that our life,
stength, and abilities come directly from God. By doing your best and being confident in your strength and
abilities, you honor God. Because it is God who gave them to you.

When you have faith in your strength and abilities apart from God - without acknowledgeing Him; this is
the sin of pride. A person with pride makes himself a god. This is why a person who is nice or good, but
does not believe in God, is doomed. By makeing yourself a god, you commit the worst sin. More evil than
murder, adultery, torture, or any other sin.

The number one commandment is:
You shall have no other gods before me or besides me.
Deut 5:7

PRIMARY ATTRIBUTES

What are the primary attributes of God?

God the Father:
He created everything. He was first. Everything that lives and moves came from Him.

Therefore, the primary attribute of Father God Almighty is: Life.

Jesus Christ of Nazareth, the Son of God:
His mission on earth was characterized by humility and forgiveness. He looked on everyone with love.

Therefore, the primary attribute of the Lord Jesus is: Love.

The Holy Spirit:

"If you love me, you will keep my commandments. and I will ask the Father, and He will give you another
Advocate to be with you always, the Spirit of truth, which the world cannot accept, because it neither sees
or knows it. But you know it, because it remains with you, and will be in you."
John 14:15-17

The Holy Spirit is the Spirit of Truth. Therefore, the Holy Spirit's primary attribute is: Truth.

GOD

Father of Life
Son of Love
Holy Spirit of Truth

Many people get caught up in metaphysical mumbo-jumbo. Pinch yourself - you are real. You live - this is
a fact. Now that you know for sure that you live - life is a truth. Most people have parents who love them.
A good parent loves their child unconditionaly. A simple hug is evidence that love is real. That which is
real is truth. Life is Love is Truth. The Trinity.

Many times in scripture we read about the 'path' we are all to take. One is at a loss to know exactly what
this 'path' is. The 'path' is life. Your life. To remain successfully on the path, you must honor life, give
love, and be true. If you do these things, you will be like God. This is the goal of Christians; to be
conformed to the likeness of the Lord. The Image of God.

Why is homosexuality wrong?
1. It is anti-life. The primary goal of life is to reproduce. A male with a male will not reproduce, neither
will female with female.

And God blessed them, and God said to them, "Be fruitful and multiply, and fill th earth and subdue it;
Gen 1:28

2. It is anti-love. Some will misinterpret love as submission no matter what. If your friend is walking
unknowingly towards the edge of a bottomless pit, you would show your love by knocking him down and
telling him, "If you continue in this direction, you will surely die". If there is even the slightest doubt as to
the wrongness of a homosexual act; it is sin. In other words, doing the act would be like pushing your
friend over the cliff.

3. It is anti-truth. The true nature of a man is to be a man. If God made you to have sex with a man, He
would have made you a woman. If you have a problem with this, just look at nature. According to science,
our closest relative in the animal kingdom is the chimpanzee. You don't see any homosexual chimps. If
homosexual behavior was natural, it would be obvious and common to the observers. It is not.

The great apes live in groups. 1(one) large male dominates the group and fathers most of the children. He
has a harem. The other males are kept in submission and are not allowed to have sex with the harem of
the dominent male; though when females are in heat mateing with the lesser males may occur. The
success of the group depends on its ability to procreate. Any chimps that were homosexual would die out.

Anti-Life +
Anti-Love +
Anti-Truth = Anti-God

We must Honor Life, Give Love, and Be True to walk the path God has set before us. Test all your
decisions against the Trinity. If the action violates the Father, Son, or Holy Spirit - don't do it. The path of
life, love, and truth leads to God. By following it, God will meet you, and bless you with wisdom and
eternal life.

SUCCESS

Do not let this book of the Law depart from your mouth; meditate on it day and night, so that you may be
careful to do everything written in it. Then you will be prosperous and successful.
Joshua 1:8

According to Jesus; Love the Lord, Love your neighbor; fulfills the Law and the prophets. Jesus came to
fulfill the Law and the prophets. Therefore, if you believe in Jesus Christ you will be prosperous and
successful.

I can do all things through him who gives me strength.
Phil 4:13

WISDOM, UNDERSTANDING, AND KNOWLEDGE

And he said to man, 'The fear of the Lord - that is wisdom, and to shun evil is understanding.'
Job 28:28

.....an instructor of the foolish, a teacher of infants, because you have in the Law the embodiment of
knowledge and truth....
Rom 2:20

"Do not think that I have come to abolish the Law and the prophets. I have come not to abolish but to
fulfill."
Mat 5:17

Wisdom (gained by asking God and doing the commandments) is the reverential and worshipful fear of
the Lord.

Understanding is to shun and depart from all that is evil.

Knowledge is the Grace granted to you by the belief in Jesus Christ - the fulfilled embodiment of the Law.

AM I GOING TO HEAVEN?

(from a Billy Graham tract)

Only if you believe in Jesus Christ, the only begotten Son of God Almighty.

1. Heaven is a free gift; it is not earned or deserved.
2. All men are sinners, and sin separates us from God.
3. God is Holy and "of purer eyes" and cannot look upon iniquity, but He wants all men to live in Heaven
with Him. How is this dilemma solved?
4. The answer is that God sent His Messiah into the world to pay a debt He did not owe because WE owed
a debt we could not pay. This He did by giving His life for us, the Just dying for the unjust.
5. Tell us how to receive this free gift. In Acts 16:3 we read, "Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou
shalt be saved. "For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life through Christ Jesus our
Lord. Romans 6:23
1. Confess
2. Surrender

There is only one way to Heaven: Jesus Christ.

You earn what you work for. Your wages should equal your efforts. If the work you do is evil, and you are
a un-repentant sinner, you will earn eternal damnation. Works apart from faith in Christ are empty.
Because total purity is beyond man, and that is what God requires to be in Heaven, you cannot work your
way to salvation. You will never get there. You must scale a mountain of perfection to reach the foot of
God. If you get half way up, there still is a long way to go. Jesus Christ is the bridge - the only slender
bridge you must cross - to get to our Heavenly Father. "I am the way and the truth and the life, no one
comes to the Father except through me." John 14:6

If you want the gift of eternal life in Heaven with God you must:
1. Confess to God you are a sinner and have done wrong in your life,
2. Surrender your life to the Lord Jesus Christ.
If you do these things with a true and humble heart, all of your sins - now and forever - are erased and
forgiven. The Holy Spirit seals you and marks you as one of the family of God. The Holy Spirit then
dwells within you. The proof of your conversion is to love your neighbor - in other words do His
commandments. To confess and say the Lord is your savior without action is a worthless conversion -
empty and useless.

The good news is that when you believe in Jesus Christ, you are forgiven. You no longer have to fear
death.

HE WILL PROVIDE FOR YOU

Cast your cares on the Lord and He will sustain you; He will never let the righteous fall. But you, O God
will bring down the wicked into the pit of corruption; bloodthirsty and deceitful men will not live out half
their days. But as for me, I trust in you.
Psalm 55:22

The Lord is my Shepherd, I shall not be in want. He makes me lie down in green pastures, He leads me
besides quiet waters, He restores my soul. He guides me in paths of righteousness for His namesake. Even
though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod
and your staff, they comfort me. You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies. You anoint
my head with oil; my cup overflows. Surely goodness and love will follow me all the days of my life, and I
will dwell in the house of the Lord forever.
Psalm 23

DREAMS AND VISIONS

The Lord speaks to us in several ways: through scripture, directly, by visions, dreams, and through other
people.

During my second or third year in high school, as I was laying in my bed, half asleep, I had a couple of
dream- visions. I had them in a time of doubt. During a time I was not actively worshiping the Lord.
Though sometime before that, I had asked the Lord into my life.

The first -

My dream begins in a different place, a strange world. As far as the eye could see, stretched out before me
was a vast sea. The sea was of what looked like white quartz sand. The sky above was just a shade lighter
than the sand. No sun was visible. In the midst of this sea was a road or path. It was about 10'wide and
crumbling at the edges into the sand. The path was polished perfectly smooth, without a crack or seam.
Made of solid blue saphire, blue with white clouds - like solid sky. The road gently meandered into the far
distance; leading to a mountain made of the same stuff as the road.

I was walking down the road towards the distant mountain. My hair was slightly longer and graying at the
temples; skin well tanned; slim and fit; clothes were white linen - a shirt and shorts - tatered and torn - as
if I had been through some kind of explosion, though my body showed no sign of injury. I walked for a
time towards the mountain. Eventually, I saw walking in my direction, two hooded dark monk-like fiures.
As we drew near, they threw back their hoods. It was two guys I knew in high school. Their apperance
was that of dead men. Gray-white hair, pail white faces, and dead eyes. They struck a typical pose, which
I always remember them in; left one with arms straight at his sides, right one with a cigarette just out of
mouth in hand. They said, "Hi John. How's it going?" and I said,"O.K. Where are you guys going?"
The one on the left said, pointing away from the mountain, "Down this way", and I said, "I'm going this
way," pointing towards the mountain. They said, "See you later", like they meant, "See you never", and
then, "take it easy."

They put up their hoods and continued in the opposite direction I was going. I walked on and the dream
ended with me reaching the mountain, and entering in to a place of gold and jewels.

I talked with some other Christians about my dream. They said; the gray at my temples showed I had
gained some wisdom; my fitness and tan showed I was in good health; the tatered white garments showed
I had been purified by the blood of Jesus.

The path represented life and its' substance reminded me of this passage:
Moses and Aaron, Nadab and Abihu, and the seventy elders of Israel went up and saw the God of Israel.
Under His feet was something like a pavement made of saphire, clear as the sky itself.

To say the least, when I first began to study scripture, when I came across this passage; it shocked me.
Because it described exactly what the path looked like. I had my dream before I had read the Bible all the
way through.

The guys I describe in the dream were worldly. From their apperance and the direction they were heading
- away from God - their destiny may be destruction. I pray that part of my dream is wrong and they
eventually come to know the Lord. It is God's will how I will die. The conversation was very typical -
shallow and empty.

The mountain I reached was Heaven. The mountain of God. The inside of the mountain fits the
description in the book of Revelation of the new Jerusalem.

The second -

I am walking down a store lined street in a foreign country. Window shopping. I turn a corner and walk to
the end of a dead-end street. As I get to the end of the street, I turn around to find I am surrounded by
many totally dark men - so dark I could not see their faces or their clothes - even though it is the middle of
the day.

They say,"We are evil and we will destroy you!"

I wonder to myself, "How will I escape?" So I point out over their heads and yell, "Look over there!" They
all turned to look. The moment their eyes leave me, I dash through them, running as fast as I could go.
Out the entrance to the dead- end street, around a corner, and around a corner again. As I turned the last
corner, I changed to little John - as I was when I was 6 years old. Running past a fire hydrant, I run into
the leg of a man. Wrapping my arms around his leg - I was terrified. A peace came over me and a hand
laid gently on my head, and I heard, "Do not be afraid John, I will take care of you." I looked down and
saw sandled feet and up to see and know that I am looking at Jesus, my Savior.
