God

Let us talk about God.

His dominion is an eternal dominion; His kingdom endures from generation to generation. All the peoples
of the earth are regarded as nothing. He does as He pleases with the powers of Heaven and the peoples of
the earth. No one can hold back His hand or say to Him: "What have you done?"
Dan 4:31,32

King Nebuchadnezzar said this after he had been humbled by God. I would prefer to acknowledge God's
sovereignty before disaster instead of after. This is an application of 'the eternal principle' discused
previously. It is well to note that God is in total charge. Not even the passage of an ant accross your picnic
table is unnoticed by Him. You cannot limit Him to this universe or the laws He established in it. We have
no concept of His power. If all creation gives witness to God, then His signature is on all of it. To limit
God to the realm of material existance - the universe - is to put Him under the laws within it. He would
age, as everything else in the universe does. God is eternal and does not age - therefore He is outside of
the universe. He can see the end from the beginning because He is outside of time and space. Why did
God make that huricane wipe out 10,000 people? Because He felt like it! And He needs no more
explanation than that. The ways of God are beyond our understanding. He made us and gave us life.

He gave us free- will because He loves us. People ask, "Why if God is so good does He allow pain and war
and all the bad things in this world?" Free-will. To choose Heaven or Hell is before all mankind. Many
people have chosen Hell and are proud of it or have chosen Hell by ignoring Heaven.

So many people have chosen Hell that they have made the earth as close to there future home as possible.
The world is bad because many people have made a free-will choice to go to Hell. It is obvious, that if
more people chose to love God and neighbor the world would be more like Heaven. No war, no pain, no
sorrow.

Jesus Christ is coming back soon.

Trust

Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways
acknowledge Him, and He will make your paths straight.
Prov 3:5

Trust is not easily given. Normally you only give it after you get to know someone for a while. Men will
fail. They are imperfect images of the God that made them. If a pearson is solidly God fearing - you can
trust him with your life, home, family, wife, wealth, everything. But beware, even a strong man can fall if
the temptation is beyond his ability to hold back.

So, who can you trust?

God.

He will not fail you. He is pure and His faith is beyond doubt. If you give or put anything into the hands of
your Maker and it is honest and true and sincere, it will succeed. The path of your life will lead to life
eternal or eternal punishment depending on whether you trust in God.

True Freedom

True freedom is only acquired through a belief in Christ Jesus.

Jesus then said to those jews who believed in him, "If you remain in my word, you will truly be my
disciples, and you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free."
John 8:31,32

What is the truth?

A fact - solid rock. Accurate documentation. This is Biblical truth. Not mumbo-jumbo debateable stuff.
Many have dug into scripture to find false information. All have failed. When archeological discoveries
are made, they prove the Bible is true. The Bible is the most well documented and verified ancient
manuscript. Jesus walked this earth. He breathed this air. He did the miracles. He was crucified, died, and
was buried. On the third day He rose in accordance with many Old Testament scriptures. Twelve eye-
witnesses carried His testimony and died horrible deaths - without denying any of it! Would you suffer
torture and brutality for a fairy tale?

We did not follow cleverly devised myths when we made known to you the power and coming of our Lord
Jesus Christ, but we had been eyewitnesses of His majesty.
2 Peter 2:16

By believing in Christ Jesus, Son of God, your sins are forgiven and you gain eternal life. This is the truth
that will set you free.

JTOC

Freedom From Legalism

Legalism is believing that you earn salvation by being good. It is also looking at your neighbor with
judgemental eyes. Remember the Declaration of Independence, "We hold these truths to be self evident,
that all men are created equal,...". You are equal to me. I am no better than you. Therefore, I cannot judge
you. Only one greater than us can judge us.

To judge others is to put yourself in Gods place. Only one without sin can judge one with sin. You can let
people know what behavior will seperate them from God, but you cannot judge them.

A persons position with God is his own. If he hears the message of salvation and rejects it - so be it. He
has made a free choice. To be free of the law or legalism, you must look on others through the eyes of
Jesus, with love and forgiveness.

Providence

So do not worry, saying 'what shall we eat?' or 'what shall we drink?' or 'what shall we wear?' for the
pagans run after all these things, and your Heavenly Father knows that you need them. But seek first His
Kingdom and His rigteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.
Matt 6:31-33

Your focus must be on God.

Your prime focus is what you worship.
What you worship is what inspires you.
Faith is acting on the inspiration.

The Lord provides for all the universe. By focusing on God, the things of this world are seen in their
proper perspective. Trivial things no longer bother you. Your confidence is in God. Much stress is added
to life by worry. Life can be a struggle. Keeping your eyes on the Lord makes life much more tolerable.

The angel of the Lord encamps around those who fear Him, and He delivers them. Taste and see that the
Lord is good; blessed is the man who takes refuge in Him. Fear the Lord, you his saints, for those who fear
Him lack nothing. The lions may grow weak and hungry, but those who seek the Lord lack no good thing.
Come, my children, listen to me; I will teach you the fear of the Lord. Whoever of you loves life and
desires to see many good days, keep your tongue from evil and your lips from speaking lies. Turn from
evil and do good; seek peace and pursue it. The eyes of the Lord are on the righteous and His ears are
attentive to their cry; the face of the Lord is against those who do evil, to cut off the memory of them from
the earth. The righteous cry out and the Lord hears them; He delivers them from all their troubles. The
Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit. A righteous man may have
many troubles, but the Lord delivers him from them all; He protects all is bones, not one of them will be
broken. Evil will slay the wicked; the foes of the righteous will be condemned. The Lord redeems His
servants; no one will be condemned who takes refuge in Him.
Psalm 34:7-22

Psalm 34 is one of my favorites. It comforts me to know that as I believe in God, His essence wraps
around me, protecting me and guiding me. As we focus on Him, He provides all our needs. Remember 'the
fear of the Lord' is wisdom. Verses 11-14 talk about keeping the commandments. Sticking close to the
Lord is the wisest thing anyone can do. Notice in 15-19; a man who believes in the Lord is saved, but that
does not stop trouble from coming. The Lord is there to pick him up after the fall.

Verses 19-22 are prophetic about Jesus Christ. In 19, He is the righteous man. In 20, on the cross, none of
His bones were broken because He was already dead. In 21, those who reject the Savior will be
condemned. And 22, salvation, eternal life, and freedom from condemnation for those who take refuge in
Him.

Who is God?

I am that I am.
Exod 3:14

That one statement overwhelms me. Wow!
They also translate it as:
I will be what I will be.

The God of the universe has identified himself to man. He exists. He is all powerful. He is unlimited. The
major mistake most people make is to limit God. You cannot put God in a box. Even a very big one. By
His 'I AM' statement, it can be seen that He is the very essence of truth. I AM. There is no falseness in
Him. He is pure good.

His Kingdom -

His dominion is an everlasting dominion, and His kindom endures through all generations. All who live
on the earth are counted as nothing; He does as He pleases with the powers of Heaven as well as with
those who live on the earth. There is no one who can stay his hand or say to Him, "What have you done?"
Dan 4:31,32

After a disaster people shake their fists at the sky and curse God. I hope God will forgive them. You really
have to get a grasp of the Power of God. It is a wonder He bothers with us. I praise His Holy Name. I don't
know about you, but I can't even create a grain of sand. Much less an entire universe.

His Nature -

God is Spirit, and those who worship Him must worship in Spirit and truth.
John 4:24

A being without weight or mass. A personality as distinct as yours or mine. When you worship and pray
with your mouth - mean it throughout your entire being - body, mind, soul, and spirit. Be true. God can
see all of you - to the core - your heart. He knows you down to the last blood cell.

Whoever is without love does not know God, for God is love.
1 John 4:8

God is love. Unconditional love. Dependable love. 1 Cor 13 describes what God is. One major attribute.
God is 100% all that is good. Make a list of all that is good. That is God. He is 100% of all good things.

Man made in the Image of God -

God created man in His image; in the divine image He created Him; male and female He created them.
Gen 1:27

Why is the - or what appears to be - the same statement three times. Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. As you
read through scripture you see God exibiting love, hate, wrath, vengeance, charity, etc... In other words a
full range of emotional responses to various situations. Primarily in regard to how people acknowledge
Him or ignore Him.

The difference between God and us is His ability to be 100% of the emotion. 100% love or 100% wrath
seperately or at the same time. We only experience emotions in lower mixed percentages. Our emotions
are mixed and muddled. 85% love and 15% everything else. We like someone but we don't like their hair.
The absolute nature of God is what makes Him dependable. If someone is 100% truth, you can trust Him
with all that you are without reluctance or reservation. He is totally faithful. This is why a luke-warm faith
is detestable to Him. Either you believe in God or you don't. There is no middle ground. We are only a
reflection of God. The image in a mirror is 2-dimensional - length and width. We live in 4 dimensions -
length, width, height, and time. God is multi- dimensional. He exists in more than 4-dimensional space.
He gave up His multi-dimensional qualities to come into our universe and save us. Jesus Christ is the 4-
dimensional representation of all that is God.

I and the Father are one.
John 10:30

While existing within this universe - while God was in this world - as Jesus Christ - He obeyed the
physical and spiritual laws He established outside the universe as Father God. He aged, ate, slept, and
sweated. When He prayed, He gave us examples of how we should pray.

Before Jesus performed a miracle, He gave thanks to His other dimensional self - Father God. This is of
primary importance. When you give thanks to God, it opens the door to the power of God. When Jesus
thanked the Father, His pure faith in God opened a gate directly to the power of love. The love of God
flowed to accomplish the miraculous events. The incredible 100% faith of Jesus Christ in God. Knowing
absolutely - without a doubt - that God is. Totally untainted faith.

A good example:
A woman suffering hemorrhages for twelve years came up behind him and touched the tassel of his cloak.
She said to herself, "If only I can touch his cloak, I shall be cured." Jesus turned around and saw her, and
said, "Courage daughter! Your faith has saved you." And from that hour the woman was cured.
Matt 9:21,22

One major reason to believe in Jesus is His perfect faith in God the Father. By asking for things in Jesus'
name you ask for Him to bridge the gap between our imperfect faith with His perfect faith in God the
Father. A faith that is accomplished because Jesus and the Father are one.

The Spirit of Life Breathed into Man -

The Lord God formed the man from the dust of the ground and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life,
and the man became a living being.
Gen 1:7

This speaks of another aspect of God; life. God the Father is the Father of all that is. The universe was
given life by God. God is pure life. A good witness for God is the life within us.

The Spirit of Life -

If I draw a flower on a piece of paper and ask you what it is, you would say 'flower'. Next to the flower, I
draw a hand and ask you what it is. You would say 'a hand'. I hold up my hand. Look at yours. See it's
fine detail. The complex nature of it's inner workings. A machine of much finer workmanship than a
swiss watch. And yet people say it came about purely by chance?

Look again at the hand I have drawn. Can you order it off the paper and make it move? Can you give it
life? Neither can I. And still it is obvious it took some skill and intelligence for me to draw the hand on
the paper. It took a being with life and intelligence. So it follows, that your hand was made by a being of
life and intelligence. Christianity worships the being that made your hands and gave them life. God, the
Father of all creation, The Great I AM.

Look at your hands and believe.

Jesus Christ is God -

I and the Father are one.
John 10:30

Jesus said to them, "Amen, Amen, I say to you, before Abraham came to be, I AM."
John 8:58

If a person is going to discuss Jesus' equality and oneness as God, it is best to let the Man speak for
Himself. He is the physical aspect of God. In many places of the Old Testament, the angel of the Lord
appears. According to my Amplifide Bible, this translates to 'the essence of God' or the corporal
manifestation of God. Jesus says He is all of the Father anyone has ever seen.

"Whoever has seen me has seen the Father."
John 14:9

The burning bush, and with Abraham prior to the destruction of Sodom and Gomorrah. All that man has
physically seen of God is Jesus.

God's ability to see the end from the beginning means He can operate outside of time. Being outside of the
universe means you are not subject to it's physical laws and limits. Therefore, Jesus - in His eternal nature
- could have appeared at any time, at any place within the history of the world.

In Rev 4:5, John talks of 'seven flaming torches burned in front of the throne, which are the seven Spirits
of God.

They may be identified by the seven I AM statements Jesus makes in the Gospel of John:
I am the Bread of Life John 6:35
I am the Light of the world 8:12
I am the Door 10:9
I am the Good Shepherd 10:11
I am the Resurrection and the Life 11:25
I am the Way, Truth, and Life 14:6
I am the True Vine 15:1

Eternal Life and Salvation

For God so loved the world that He gave His only Son, so that everyone who believes in Him might not
perish but might have eternal life.
John 3:16

Our cat Glover just got hit by a car. It will cost us over $400 dollars to fix her up. The stray kitten I picked
up in front of a nearby restaurant is now worth more than our pedigree pure bred dog. What was worth
nothing now is worth a great deal. Glover knew crossing the street was dangerous and life threatening, but
she did it anyway. She was tempted to cross the street. She crossed the street; the result of her sin almost
cost her life (we ultimitely had to put her to sleep). It cost me - her master - $400 dollars to save her.
Because she cost me something, I am going to try to take better care of my now valuable street urchen.

How much did it cost God to save us?

His life. Because it cost Him so much, He will not give up any of us.

What about the guy on the south-sea island who has never heard of Jesus?

Creation is the witness of God. If you look at the major attributes of God the Father, God the Son, and
God the Holy Spirit - you can see how the islander could come to know God.

Father God's major attribute is Life Eternal. Jesus is Unconditional Love. The Holy Spirit is Truth. He
could worship the Father of Life who by His Unconditional Love (which cannot be created but radiates or
is 'begotten' from a heart that is true) created the world and all that is in it. By believing in this
Unconditional Love as the person of God, the islander would be saved. With the Holy Spirit of Truth, he
would see that harming people is wrong. 'To love' is God-like. To show his love for God, the islander
would love his neighbor, thus fulfilling the commandments. God is real and He can reveal Himself in just
such a manner. The islander - intuitively - would have accepted Jesus and been saved.

We cannot make the excuse that we do not know the name of Unconditional Love. His name is Jesus
Christ.

While in the US Navy, I searched my heart and mind to figure out what truly gave life meaning. What
realy would make it worth getting up every day? Work is empty and endless. Sex is empty - and these days
dangerous. Cars and materializm are empty.

Family is life. Family!

And what about a family makes it worthwhile? Love.

Therefore, a life without love is dead. God the Father is Life. But, if you simply believe in God in a
passing kind of way, you are not loving Him. You bumble and stumble through life, using your own
limited whits to get you from point A to point B. When things go wrong, instead of realizing God is trying
to get your attention, you curse Him. Thus, when your life is over, and you go through the filter of death,
all that can be found is the cursing of God.

Without love, there can be no forgiveness. So God gives you what you gave Him, a curse. To burn in the
Lake of Fire forever.

By believing in Jesus Christ, unconditional love is equated to you - grace. There is no condemnation for
those in the love of God through Christ Jesus. You become an adopted son of the Father. Once Jesus seals
you with the Holy Spirit of truth, you are forever His. You prove your belief by talking, praying to God
and loveing your neighbor. When you stumble on occasion, the repentant heart the Lord has given you
(like the Sacred Heart of Jesus) keeps you in communication with God, thus maintaining continual
forgiveness and fellowship. The love of God sustains you in God. When life is over, and you go through
the filter of death, what is found is the love, all the wrongs are not recorded, and the unconditional love of
God in Christ Jesus has saved you.

Praise be to God! God loves me and I love God! Amazing grace, how sweet the sound, that saved a wretch
like me. I once was lost, but now am found, was blind but now I see.
Thank the Lord!

Denial to a Continual Sinner

Everyone who commits sin commits lawlessness, for sin is lawlessness. You know that He was revealed to
take away sins, and in Him there is no sin. No one who remains in Him sins; no one who sins has seen
Him or known Him. Children, let no one deceive you. The person who acts in righteousness is righteous,
just as He is righteous. Whoever sins belongs to the devil, because the devil has sinned from the
beginning. Indeed, the Son of God was revealed to destroy the works of the devil. No one who is begotten
of God commits sin, because God's seed remains in him; he cannot sin because he is begotten of God. In
this way, the children of God are plain; no one who fails to act in righteousness belongs to God, nor
anyone who does not love his brother.
1 John 4:4-10

Once again I declare to every man who has himself circumcised that he is bound to observe the entire law.
You are seperated from Christ, you who are trying to be justified by law; you have fallen from grace.
Gal 5:34

Law

There are a set of laws which God set in place for our safety and well being. When a man observes these
laws, he is doing what God wants him to do. When a person sins, they observe the 'law' of sin. This set of
anti-laws were set up against God by Satan. Thus, if you sin, you become one of Satan's followers. If the
inspiration is evil and you act on it - that is sin.

The Mosaic laws were written to make man aware of the Satanic laws. Please notice, they are both legal
systems. Jesus fulfilled all of the Mosaic laws, thus nulifying the law of sin. When He was crucified and
died - being the personification of the Mosaic law - it died with Him. Sin and the ultimate result of sin -
death - died also.

People want to be excused to sin. They go to extremes to get permission. Even to the point that God exists.
They want to live in iniquity. A person who wants to live in iniquity is doomed. Many people want it all.
They hear and understand the message of salvation. They get on their knees and make a public confession
asking the Lord into their lives. But, the Lord sees their hearts; all they really want is an excuse to sin.
They might say, "well, since my sins are forgiven now and forever, I can do whatever I want, with
impunity." So, on the outside they show a pious face. They sound sincere but, when temptation comes,
instead of fighting it and rebuking it they dive into the mud and show their true nature. We must run away
from sin. You know when you sin. We follow the commandments of God not to gain salvation but because
we love God and want to do what He asks us to do. First one gains salvation by asking Jesus into their
heart. The proper orientation/direction/purpose/goal is God first - priority number one. With your eyes on
Heaven, your feet will not stumble.

He said, "Come". Peter got out of the boat and began to walk on the water toward Jesus. But when he saw
how strong the wind was he became frightened; and, beginning to sink, he cried out, "Lord save me!"
Immediately Jesus stretched out his hand and caught him, and said to him, "Oh you of little faith, why did
you doubt?"
Matt 14:29-31

With Peter's focus on the Lord, he did a miraculous thing, symbolic of the pure walk of one who believes
in Jesus Christ. The wind is symbolic of the world and temptation. As the temptation grows in strength
and persistance, Peter looks away from Jesus and begins to sink. But Peter knew who his Savior was, and
he called out to Him. "Lord save me!" That is all it takes. Three words. Notice what Jesus said after He
saved Peter. "Oh you of little faith, why did you doubt?" Remember the discussion about faith and doubt?
What is not faith is sin. When Peter took his eyes off Jesus, he doubted, and was headed for sure
destruction; the ultimate destination for a unrepentant sinner. One thing to note also is; when a person
seeks God honestly, He will meet you.

At this, those who heard began to go away one at a time, the older ones first, until only Jesus was left,
with the woman still standing there. Jesus straightened up and asked her, "Woman, where are they? Has
no one condemned you? "No one, Sir," she said. "Then neither do I condemn you," Jesus declared. "Go
now and leave your life of sin."
John 8:9-11

If belief only consisted of the vocal declaration, Jesus would not have told her, "Go now and leave youe
life of sin." We are to shun evil and leave sin behind. Make sure your eyes are focused on Jesus and your
heart is true. The Lord knows the false heart because He can see it. We can know a false heart by the
actions of a person. Just as we know a Christian by his love.

The Creed

We believe in one God, the Father, the Almighty, maker of Heaven and Earth, of all that is, seen and
unseen.
We believe in one Lord, Jesus Christ, the only Son of God, eternally begotten of the Father, God from
God, Light from Light, true God from true God, begotten, not made, of one being with the Father.
Through Him all things were made.
For us and for our salvation He came down from Heaven; by the power of the Holy Spirit He became
incarnate from the virgin Mary, and was made man.
For our sake He was crucified under Pontius Pilate; He suffered death and was buried. On the third day He
rose again in accordance with the scriptures, He ascended into Heaven and is seated at the right hand of
the Father. He will come again in glory to judge the living and the dead, and His kingdom will have no
end.
We believe in the Holy Sirit, the Lord, the giver of life, who proceeds from the Father. With the Father
and the Son He is worshiped and glorified. He has spoken through the prophets. We believe in one Holy
Catholic and Apostolic Church. We acknowledge one baptism for the forgiveness of sins. We look for the
resurection of the dead and the life of the world to come. Amen!

This Creed was established early in church history to answer any who would question what Christians
believe in. It was needed to solidly state our beliefs to fight heretical teachings at variance with true
Christian teachings. I had probably repeated it several hundred times in church without realizing it's
importance. Because truly, it sumerizes, accurately, what we believe is true, and from scripture and
creation are self-evident.

Several years ago, I witnessed to a fellow worker, my belief in the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. And
salvation can only be found through a belief in Jesus Christ, the Son of God, as stated in the Bible. He
replied that he believed the church fathers had invented much of the Bible and changed text to suit
themselves; throwing out books they did not like. That the canon of scripture was established at the whim
of a few men, to say nothing about being inspired by God.

I had no imediate answer to this, because I had always accepted the Bible for itself, without studying its'
history. My fellow worker said, at the Nicene Council of 325 the church fathers scrambled the beliefs of
the church and changed them into something else. This disturbed me, so I asked around for some good
books on the subject that I could study on the history of the Bible and Christianity. The people I asked
directed me to Josh McDowell's 'Evidence that demands a verdict' Vol.1 & 2. For a history of the church
councils, I looked in several encyclopedias and found what I wanted.

It turns out that the Council of Nicea was called to solidly establish the fundamental principles we believe
as Christians. What motivated the church to do this, was the teachings of a man named Arius. He believed
that Jesus Christ was not of the same substance as the Father, but was created as an agent for creating the
world. Armed with what I had learned, I presented the information to my fellow worker. It seemed to
fill in and replace some of the bad information. I believe also, that it has increased his faith. As far as my
own faith, as a result of studying the history of the of the Bible and the church, it has never been stronger.
Have no doubt, what we believe in is true! Solid as stone! The farther you dig, the more solid it becomes.
Those who do not believe and doubt the accuracy of scriptures, are just plain wrong. They want to sin and
burn in Hell forever. So be it. As for me and my household, we shall follow the Lord.
